about Lovick'sLovicks Ltd is a family run furniture retail business stablished in Rochdale Lancashire on the 20th November 1919.
From that day Lovicks has provided the North-West and West Yorkshire with high quality beds, furniture and carpets. We are members of Associated Independent Stores which is the largest non-food retail buying group in the UK, allowing us to offer value for money with excellent customer service. History William Lovick established the business in 1919 after returning from serving with the British Army in the Great War. Lovick`s moved from the original site in 1920 but not for long and returned and expanded to the current 10,000 sq ft site. Alan Lovick Alan Lovick was Williams' son. He joined the business in 1930 and took control when his father died from the effects of war -time gas poisoning he had suffered 20 years earlier. He steered the business through the great recession and the Second world war. Alan also spent time as a Magistrate and was Chairman of the Bench . Alan passed away in 1996. William (Bill) Lovick Bill joined the business in 1956 learning the ropes, from van boy to Kosset trained carpet fitter, and in 1970 became managing director a position he still holds today. David and Helen Lovick Bill`s children David and Helen joined the company in 1985 and have moved up through the company to become directors assisting in the day to day running of the business. |
